The PD's word-for-word script for studio integration.
Target: 30 minutes from first conversation to first read-through.
Before you begin: Print this page. Read it once before the meeting. Do not improvise the six beats — the language is specific for a reason. You can adapt the transitions, but the core of each beat stays intact. Work through them in order. Do not skip the Relief Clause.
"The Skinny is not a radio segment that happens to be useful. It is a daily act of service that happens to be on the radio."
This is the sentence that separates the stations that run this format from the stations that run it well. The first group produces content. The second group builds trust. Trust is the asset. Content is the vehicle.
The install is complete when every item below is checked. Do not go to air with unchecked boxes. Each item represents a failure mode that has already happened at another station.
The Talent Install is Stage 0 — the prerequisite. Once the host is ready, the seven-stage operating system runs the platform. Each stage has a specific input, a specific output, and a specific person responsible.
Every Friday by 9 AM, the sponsor receives a one-page Market Pulse PDF: the top five audience questions from the week in their category, the exact verbatim language listeners used, and the Skinny segment that addressed it. The sponsor who receives this report is no longer buying airtime. They are receiving a weekly intelligence briefing on what their customers are actively trying to solve. That is a consultative relationship. Consultative relationships do not get cancelled at renewal time. They get expanded.
"The system is installable, trainable, sellable, and scalable.
The 30-minute install is the moment it becomes real for the talent."
